Since 2020, the Commission has committed itself to becoming a more diverse and inclusive organisation, so that its recommendations to government are more likely to ensure that the UK’s infrastructure is universally accessible and usable by as many people as reasonably possible.
A central part of this approach is our mission to create a diverse, inclusive workplace that is representative of the public we serve as a public body. This updated statement builds on the progress achieved under the Commission’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2020-23, and sets out the steps the Commission has taken to meet its own internal change targets, and to ensure that its policy work better takes into account the needs and views of a wider section of groups across society.
