Developing design principles for national infrastructure
Research by Publica for the Design Task Force to inform the design recommendations in the Assessment.
The Commission established a Design Task Force to set out a definition for design that goes beyond the aesthetics of a project to include:
- thinking creatively about the processes involved in providing infrastructure
- problem-solving from the outset of a project
- making infrastructure human scale and people friendly
- enhancing the environment and improving quality of life for local people and nearby communities.
