Flood modelling

Research modelling the risks associated with different standards of flood resilience.

Tagged: National Infrastructure AssessmentWater & Floods

This analysis addresses flood risk, and the model uses two scenarios for population growth (‘high’ and ‘low’) and two scenarios for climate change (‘medium’ and ‘high’, consistent with rises in global mean temperatures of 2oC and 4oC respectively). The model also allows different approaches to flood management: for simplicity, protection provided by flood defences and property level measures were used to proxy for the full range of potential flood resilience investments. This analysis informed the first National Infrastructure Assessment.
