The Commission is recruiting for an experienced policy professional to join our team and provide expert advice on policy development on the UK’s digital and telecoms infrastructure.

This role is a great opportunity to work creatively and rigorously on some of the most pressing issues for UK infrastructure over the long term, shaping how digital infrastructure and utilisation of data will support our society and economy into the future. The successful candidate will have existing knowledge of the digital infrastructure system along with a desire to extend that knowledge into new areas of policy .

To date, the Commission’s main focus in the digital infrastructure sector has been on the mobile and broadband access networks. Our primary recommendations have focused on deploying full fibre broadband, extending 4G mobile coverage, and deploying 5G mobile infrastructure. Going forward, as part of the work on the UK’s second National Infrastructure Assessment we will consider the potential benefits of applying digital infrastructure to cut costs and improve quality in the other infrastructure sectors within its remit, such as transport, energy or water.

More information can be found on Civil Service Jobs. The closing date for applications is 30 January.
