Thinks Insight and Resarch was commissioned to explore public attitudes to infrastructure and investment, and test Commission ideas in three areas where members of the public directly interact with infrastructure: transport, heating and recycling.

The objectives of the research were to understand the public’s informed view on infrastructure generally and these three areas in particular, explore the barriers to decarbonisation in the UK, understand their awareness of climate change resilience issues, and explore their views on the funding of infrastructure.
