National Infrastructure Assessment | Study
The UK’s first National Infrastructure Assessment was published on 10 July, 2018. It made a series recommendations for how the identified infrastructure needs and priorities of the country should be addressed – in energy, water, transport, and digital connectivity – and many of these recommendations have subsequently been accepted by government and informed its own National Infrastructure Strategy, published in November 2020.
Three years on, the Commission is now beginning work in earnest on the second National Infrastructure Assessment, which will be published in 2023, five years since the first Assessment.
In looking forward, we also wanted to take a look back. This short pamphlet looks at a few of the ways in which the the first report has had an impact and helped encourage a long term approach, stable approach to the planning and delivery of the UK’s infrastructure.
