This social research by BMG was commissioned as part of the new study on reducing the risk of surface water flooding. Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative survey work, the research sought the views of a representative range of member of the public on four broad themes:

  • their awareness of the issue of surface water flooding
  • their levels of concern
  • their willingness to pay to reduce the risk
  • what other proactive measures that they and other actors should take.
